  • Dream Internship (DIA) is pleased to administer this offer of a temporary internship. This offer letter outlines the agreement discussed and agreed upon between the Intern, the Host Company, and Dream Internship. It is confirmed upon signature from both Host Company and Intern.
  • 1. Definitions
  • In this Offer / Confirmation Letter the following definitions apply:
  • - Intern: means the person introduced by Dream Internship (DIA) to the Host Company (HC) for an engagement.
  • - Host Company (HC): means the organisation that is allowing the intern to undertake training with them, through an internship program set up by Dream Internship.
  • - Dream Internship (DIA) is the consultancy administering the internship between the Intern and the Host Company (HC).

  • The Intern must contact their Host Company supervisor by email and cc their external mentor nominated by DIA to confirm the commencement date of the internship. The Intern should review any additional information provided to them about the Host Company.
  • Dream Internship recommend Interns and Host Companies take note of the following;
  • Ensure Host Company address and location is clearly communicated between both parties prior to the commencement date.
  • Agree on rules and regulations about internship hours and tasks so there are no misunderstandings between any and all parties. Interns can sometimes be confused if Host Companies are late or away a lot so it’s best to set clear guidelines. Interns are expected to show up to work 5 minutes early every day.
  • Keep in mind that it is important to ask questions and make sure to get clear answers, as well as to write down and repeat task. Go through tasks before and after execution.
  • Interns must fill in a fortnightly diary form with 4 simple questions about their internship experience, and it would be great if Host Companies can let us know how things are going too.
  • Dream Internship prefer working with Interns and Host Companies that are open and honest in their communication and keep us informed regarding the internship experience. Report all issues so that Dream Internship know when to help and what to help with. Be reliable and honest at all times.
  • Host Companies and Interns alike, know that they have to read the Internship and Host Company Agreement, included below, prior to signing this Offer / Confirmation Letter.
  • Intern Agreement:
  • The intern will intern in accordance with the specifications of their visa and their internship contract. Unless otherwise is specified in this Offer/Confirmation Letter, this is a volunteer project.
  • The intern will take out travel and/or medical insurance and/or adequate liability insurance to ensure they are covered for workplace accidents; and will provide copies of these documents to Dream Internship before commencement.

  • Dream Internship takes no responsibility for insurance and will not cover any damages the intern induces upon themselves or the Host Company before, during or after the internship.
  • The intern should attend an orientation session with Dream Internship prior to commencing their internship. A handbook will be provided to the intern prior to this session, which should be reviewed beforehand. Only applies to interns enrolled in the 201 and 203 Programs.
  • The Intern is responsible for scheduling time to meet with their Host Company supervisor and review tasks set in addition to the ones in this letter of offer as the internship progresses. The tasks in this letter of offer are standard and are subject to change.
  • The intern will conduct themselves in an appropriate professional manner, in line with cultural standards in Australia. The intern will comply with the Host Company dress code, maintaining a professional appearance suitable for the role in question.
  • The intern cannot provide any other internship provider, education agent, university, or similar company, with the contact details of the Host Company where they are placed.
  • The intern cannot provide any other internship provider, Education Agent, University, or related with any material given by Dream Internship.
  • The intern cannot share any information, intelligence or documentation sighted or developed during the internship (while with the Host Company) with other companies, at any time.
  • The Intern shall professionally represent the Dream Internship Program and the Host Company at all times. This includes their behaviour outside the hours of their internship placement.
  • The intern is committed to being pro-active, seeking self-development opportunities to further prepare them for the Australian and international workforce.
  • The Intern will advise their Host Company supervisor of any issues within the workplace immediately. Dream Internship will assist Interns in resolving any difficulties. Interns should send a fortnightly email to Dream Internship reporting on activities and any difficulties, cultural challenges and observations.
  • Should the Intern wish to withdraw from the internship after commencement, the Intern will discuss this and follow the direction of Dream Internship in respect of doing this appropriately, BEFORE ceasing to show up at the internship. The Intern MUST discuss this with Dream Internship before telling the Host Company.

  • The Intern will negotiate any completion of paperwork/documentation and references for the internship prior to completing the internship with their Host Company supervisor and Dream Internship. The onus is on the Intern to gather any necessary evidence of the internship in advance of leaving.
  • The Intern will complete a Dream Internship evaluation form/survey at completion of the program.
  • Upon completion of the internship, Interns should contact Dream Internship for their Certificate of Achievement and their de-brief session, prior to departing Australia if applicable.
  • Host Company Agreement:
  • Host Companies will host interns for the duration of the program and as specified in this letter of offer.
  • Host Companies shall ensure the nominated mentor is available on a weekly basis throughout the internship or as agreed with Dream Internship and Intern prior to commencement.
  • Host Companies shall demonstrate open and clear communication with the Intern and Dream Internship, including notifying Dream Internship of any issues that arise or additional assistance that is required.
  • Host Companies shall consider that Interns may not have any corporate/industry experience and may need tasks to be clearly explained in details and big picture context.
  • Host Companies shall encourage Interns to work efficiently using positive reinforcement, monitoring goal lists and use of internal processes within the company.
  • Host Companies shall provide Interns with tasks related to their education and training and the company/industry; it is understood that this includes general administration or other tasks related to specific fields.
  • Host Companies shall demonstrate commitment to the training and development of the Intern and act as role model during this mentoring process.
  • Host Companies shall advise Dream Internship if there are limited tasks for interns, as Dream Internship may be able to provide additional tasks related to the company’s industry.
  • Host Companies shall not exceed more than three intern placements at one time to ensure maximum leverage of each intern.
  • Host Companies shall inform Dream Internship if the company has capacity to convert the intern to an employee.
  • Host Companies shall complete a Dream Internship evaluation form at completion of the program, and provide the feedback to the Intern in a constructive manner.
  • Host Companies shall provide written references for Interns upon completion of internship programs.
  • Although not a requirement; Dream Internship strongly encourage the company to provide the Intern with travel assistance through public transport for the first week or entirety of their internship. This increases productivity and enhances motivation.
  • An internship is a learning period where an intern undertakes training within a host company with the aim of developing mutually beneficial goals. The only way an internship can be un-paid is if it is a training where the intern gains the main benefit of the program as a training initiative.
  • NOTE: Dream Internship are committed to developing a long term relationship with Host Companies and Interns, and our objective is to provide a professional, effective service. If the involved parties feel that DIA are not delivering on this commitment, we would appreciate being notified, in order to improve our service.
  • General Comments for Costing:
  • - No fees payable to Dream Internship are included in this contract.
  • - Dream Internship charge program fees which are outlined in separate and confidential contracts provided to Host Companies and Interns. These fees may include training courses.
  • - Host Companies must transfer any payments through Dream Internship unless otherwise is agreed on beforehand.
  • By signing this agreement, Interns and Host Companies agree to the internship requirements listed in this Offer / Confirmation Letter and understand their obligations.
  • Both Interns and Host Companies agree to comply with these requirements and understand not complying may result in dismissal from the program.
  • Signatures mean that both interns and Host Companies are able to commence the internship program on the specified date, and understand that Interns should be treated as fellow employees during the internship although they are not employed.
  • The conditions of this agreement is understood and both Interns and Host Companies shall endeavour to live up to each others expectations. Dream Internship has provided all the relevant documentation to support successful completion of the internship program and answered any queries so far.
